Posting Scores With Temporary Greens

Posting A Score With Temporary Greens

Can I Post Today’s round With Temp Greens?

Can you post today’s round played at Gold Mountain? The simple answer is yes ,  according to WaGolf.

The Cascade is simple, we had no temps on the front and two on the back. So to post, you must post hole-by-hole. You select post, choose the course, then select Number of Holes Played “10-17 holes”, and enter your gross score for the 16 holes that you played to the regular greens and leave the other two holes blank. It’ll inform you that “you have not entered a score for every hole, if you post the score, you will receive an 18 hole differential based on your handicap index”. Select “POST ANYWAY”, and you are done.

For the Olympic since it had 2 temps on one side and 3 temps on the other side, it is a bit more complicated and unusual. Select post score, then select enter hole-by-hole score, you then select Number of Holes Played “10-17 holes”. Since there was not a nine that played to all nine regular greens, you must take the nine that had two temp greens and record your net par on the two temp holes and your gross scores on the other seven holes, then on the other nine you just enter the gross score for the holes that you played to the regular greens and leave the three temp hole scores blank. So you will have entered a total of 15 scores, two of them being net pars.

A net par is par plus any strokes that you would have received on that hole. For example if my course handicap was one ( I know, I know, just go along with me..) Then if I was playing the Olympic, my net par would be a par on every hole except on hole #7 which is the number one handicap hole, on that par 4 my net par would be a bogey 5. On the flip side (and yes, more realistic for me) if my course handicap was an 18, then my net par for all 18 holes would be a bogey on every hole.

Normally to post a score, you should only post a score that is playing to the regular greens, but to do that at least one nine needs to be all regular greens, and on the Olympic today that wasn’t the situation so this is our guidance from WaGolf. If you choose to not post your Olympic score when there are temps on both sides, I won’t come knocking on your door.
